FAQ's

What are your offerings?
For Spring 2024, we are growing ranunculus, peonies, anemones, and roses. All bouquets are carefully wrapped in sturdy floral paper, and make a great gift.

What do the bouquets look like? Will I get to choose specific forms or colors?

The specific varieties and colors included in bouquets will ebb and flow throughout the season, so we cannot guarantee what will be included. We will try our best to accommodate requests for colors; however, some flowers have a short growing window in this region, such as peonies which are only available in mid-to-late May.

All of our bouquets have a whimsical, romantic look - and they tend to have floral fragrance. If that's up your alley, we should be friends.

Follow us on IG for real time updates on the flowers and colors that will be offered each week.

What is the difference between these flowers and ones I see in the grocery store or florist shop?
Typical florist and grocery store bouquets are shipped here from far, far away with only a few days left of beauty - unless your favorite florist sources their flowers from us! Hill & Wild flowers are grown locally in Chalfont, Bucks County and Philadelphia, PA, which means these flowers are so fresh, they can last a week or more in your vase.

We are harvesting and wrapping the bouquets right before we sell them directly to you. Oftentimes, we pick our flowers in the early morning before you pick up your bouquet. Talk about fresh and local!

What are your growing methods? / Do you use any chemicals?

So glad you asked! We prefer to keep things ultra natural. While we are too small of an operation to be certified organic, we certainly do not use any chemical herbicide, pesticide, or fungicide to produce our flowers. We don't even use plastic in our flower patch as weed barrier! Instead, we use tactics like intercropping aka companion planting, vermicompost (I'll let you Google that one), kelp and fish fertilizer, and lactic acid bacteria cultivated simply in milk and sugar. Our philosophy is to encourage our plants to be strong, so that they are naturally resistant to disease and pest pressure. Our flower patch doubles as our herb garden, and we regularly harvest lettuce, parsley, fennel, and other food crops that we plant underneath our flowers, for our personal use. We are truly committed to keeping our garden healthy and thriving!
